Christoph H. Belke is currently pursuing a PhD in robotics with the Reconfigurable Robotics Lab (RRL) at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He received his Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London where he was awarded with the Engineering Dean’s list prize for academic excellence. Christoph has previously worked on medical and rehabilitation robotics at both Imperial College London and the University of California, Berkeley. He is now developing novel reconfigurable and modular robots to augment human robot interaction.

Field Hockey:
I love playing Field Hockey and have done so since the age of 6. At Imperial College I played for the 1st Men’s Hockey Team and became captain in my final year. During secondary school I played for the 1st team at Haileybury where I also enjoyed coaching several youth teams. I was a member of my county’s youth squad (Hessen, Germany) from 2006-08 and won 8 county champion titles with youth teams at Sport-Club Frankfurt 1880 e.V., Germany.

I enjoy playing the piano and I was accepted to study at Dr. Hoch’s Konservatorium Musikakademie 2007-08, Frankfurt am Main. Before this I was awarded two regional “Jugend musiziert” prizes.

Member and former youth team player of Golf- & Land-Club Kronberg e.V., Germany.

I love travelling and I take any opportunity I can to explore new places. In the past this has included a Hockey tour to Malaysia and road-trips through South Africa, America and many destinations in Europe. I am also a big fan of classic motorbikes.
